What's New in Visual C++ 2005

The talk will cover some of the new features that were added in Visual C++ 2005 - specifically new optimizations like Whole Program Optimization (WPO) and Profile Guided Optimizations (PGO). The talk will also look at some of the security related features that were added in Visual C++ 2005. If there is time the talk may also look at some of the new features will be int next release of Visual C++.

After getting his degree in CS from QUB Jonathan Caves worked at CERN and Glockenspiel before joining Microsoft in 1993. At Microsoft he has worked exclusively for the Visual C++ team where he has been involved in all aspects of the Visual C++ compiler. He is the Microsoft representative to SC22/WG21 the ISO C++ Standardization body.
