Emergence day +1 - The LAN Event

Saturday saw one of our regular LAN events. The star of the show, for me, was definantly Gears of War. I havn't had so much fun in a game for a while.

In our 10 hour session we got to play:

• Call of Duty 3
• Gears of War
• Spliter Cell: Double Agent

Don't get me wrong, playing online is fun, but it's not as fun as actually sitting in the same room as the people you are fragin'.

Thanks again to 'Spike' for organising the event and for the chilli!!!

BlogMailr - Email to Blog service

The telligent guys, who are behind Community Server, have produced a new service called BlogMailr. This service which allows you to publish to your Blogs directly from your email without any add-ons. They deal with all the plumbing to your blogs and all you have to do is to send a email to a specific BlogMailr account. This means that you are able to write your blogs using your favourite email client on any platform.

 

It is able to deal with uploading pictures and attachments if your Blog provider is able to handle it. We’re waiting to update the NIMTUG site the to newest version of CS which should enable us to do this.

 

The service is free for individuals but will have some limitations such as:

 

·         Traffic Limits

·         Support for images / categories

·         Multiple Blogs per BlogMailr account

·         Addition of “Published with BlogMailr” to the subject

 

There will be a commercial version without the limits, which will be ~ $5/mo for a Single user account.
